Now, Iran?

Is Bush now sufficiently loose from his moorings that he is about to launch us into Iran?

The must-read Helena Cobban connects some dots and comes to that conclusion

Go check out her argument. What is particularly disheartening is that many Democrats have been ‘crying for blood’ on Iran, so they will probably support an invasion and prove yet again what useless fools they all are.

I’ve written here and here just about how stupid this will be.

But let’s just remind ourselves of a quick fact: Iran four times the size, three times the people, six times the economy of Iraq. Iraq is just smaller than France, Iran is nearly three times the size of France.

Hi,

Just wanted to follow up on your comment on "justworldnews.org" regarding the King of Jordan's support of a war on Iran and his opposition to a war on Iraq.
The King was the first to bring up the threat of a Shia crescent in the Arabic media and he was publicly scolded by Mohamed Hassanein Heikal on Aljazeera for it, who said he should focus more on the nuclear threat of Israel at the time, it was after 2001 but i can't remember when exactly. Of course the royal family of jordan is looked upon as puppets and traitors in the Arab world even by Saudi and Egyptian governments and neither trust them but use them for their political ends as the Americans do. Which is why anything coming out of them is more of a moderate american view than an arab view .

your lucky i found a reference to Heikal's comments here:

Heikal's comments on the shia crescent and disagreement with King Abdullah

Its the second last paragraph.
