Four models of the relationship
The models
Conflict - the two world views are in collision and only one can be right.
Independence - they speak two different languages that have nothing to do with each other. Science does "how", religion does "why."
Dialog - Mutual discussion of how they have interacted in history, discussion of common intellectual issues and research problems.
Integration - Find a "unified theory of truth" that includes both.
